Lewistown Presbyterian Church has an active and diverse music ministry which serves regularly in worship.
The Chancel Choir leads worship each week at the 10:30 AM worship service and for special occasions. This is a dedicated group that rehearses each Wednesday evening from 7 PM to 8 PM and on Sunday mornings in the choir room at 10 AM. The choral repertoire is selected from a mixture of all musical periods from the Renaissance through contemporary works. The choir is regularly accompanied by piano or organ, but frequently sings a cappella as well. Leadership in the worship hour includes introits and anthems.
Handbell Ensemble learns music to ring in worship once a month. A little music reading helps but is not a requirement! The Children’s Choir and Ringers participate in Worship as the introit once a month. In the Fall they prepare a Christmas musical to be shared at an evening event during Advent.
Rehearsals are Fall through Spring as follows:
- Chancel Choir – Wednesdays, 7 PM – 8 PM in the Sanctuary
- Handbell Ensemble – Adults: Every Other Wednesday 6 PM – 7 PM in the Sanctuary
- Children’s Choir / Ringers– Sundays, 6 PM – 7 PM in the Sanctuary
