Interim Pastor, Rev. Lisa Heckman

Lisa is a life long Presbyterian, not counting a short stint with the United Methodists.  In ministry for over 27 years, she has served rural, suburban, and small city churches in Pennsylvania and New York.  She has always been comfortable navigating change which is why she began doing transitional ministry in 2016.  LPC is her 5th transitional position, including a stint as a transitional executive presbyter in Wisconsin.

Lisa’s enjoying life in Central PA.  A Penn State grad, this area has been a weekend get away place for many years.  In many ways it feels like coming home.

Visitation Pastor, Rev. Joy Kaufmann

Joy Kaufmann was raised in the Woods Memorial Presbyterian Church in Severna Park, MD and has been ordained a deacon, ruling elder, and pastor in the Presbyterian Church (USA). She is married to Bill Sisson, and they share their home in Reedsville with a golden retriever named Good Dog who loves everyone, and with 11 cats who are less happy about people (unless they have food.) She received a BA (majors in medieval studies and religion) from the University of Mary Washington in Fredericksburg, VA and an MDiv (emphasis in patris-cs) from Union Theological Seminary in New York City. She has served as an Associate Pastor, Interim Pastor, Director for Public Advocacy at the Pennsylvania Council of Churches, and General Presbyter for the Hun-ngdon Presbytery. She enjoys partnering with others in looking for solu-ons in the midst of challenging circumstances.

Director of Christian Education and Director of Preschool, Ginny Westover

Ginny Westover grew up in New Jersey and attended the Lancaster Bible College. She continued her education at Talbot Seminary where she received a master’s degree in Christian Education. She is the mother of six children, the youngest of whom still lives at home. She lives in Reedsville and enjoys being outdoors, caring for their horses and other animals, reading, and working with our youth and children. She is also a wonderful resource for those who are struggling as she is an excellent listener and encourager. Her greatest passion is to see people come alive and grow in their relationships with God.

Assistant Preschool Teacher, Brooke Soles

Brooke Soles grew up in Lewistown. This is Brooke’s first year assisting teaching at the Lewistown Presbyterian Preschool. She has four years of experience working in childcare and with children of different ages. She holds a bachelor’s degree in American studies and also serve as the Assistant Program Director at the Lumina Center.

Financial Secretary, Kristy Thierwechter

Kristy Thierwechter resides in Lewistown with her husband and two daughters. She grew up in northeastern Pennsylvania and received a degree in Interior Design at Indiana University of Pennsylvania.  After graduating, she lived in Massachusetts for over 6 years where she obtained her Masters of Science degree.  Crunching numbers, getting all the details and helping others are all skills that she has brought with her to help make the church run efficiently.  She enjoys helping out at her daughters’ school along with Bible school in the summer.  In her free time she enjoys camping, hiking, reading, gardening and occasionally playing the piano. Witnessing God’s love through the church, she seeks to encourage others to find a church they can call home.

Administrative Assistant, Pauline Belfiore

Pauli is a lifelong member of the Lewistown Presbyterian Church. She is a member of the choir, Tuesday night Study group, and a Ruling Elder in the church. Pauli enjoys singing and playing clarinet in the local community band and the Logan Guards. Pauli lives in Lewistown with her husband Art, a retired High School marching and concert band director. They are both enjoying his retirement. They have four adult children: Julie, Kari, Allison, and Ben. They also have four wonderful grandchildren ranging in ages from five to twenty-one. They are Sidney, 21, Olivia, 19, Saylor, 9, and Blair and Fletcher, both 5.

LOEWEN, Joan

Accompanist, Joan Loewen

Joan Loewen grew up in Osceola Mills, PA, and graduated from Philipsburg-Osceola High School before attending Penn State and earning a degree in Music Education. She taught elementary general and choral music in Mifflin County for 34 years before retiring in 2012. She served as organist/choir director at St. Mark’s Episcopal Church and has assisted as a substitute organist at Grace United Methodist Church, where she is a member, for many years. She is married to Philip Loewen, retired band director at Southern Huntingdon High School and local musician. They are the proud parents of two sons: Ben, married to Jenn, and living in State College; and Matthew, living at home.

John Gregory’s favorite hobbies are golfing and bowling.  He enjoys going to concerts and plays.  He has a son, David, who lives in San Antonio, Texas and a daughter, Christine, who is living nearby.  He also has a granddaughter and one great grandson in Lewistown.

Brandon has been part of the Lewistown Presbyterian Church since 2016 and became a member in 2017. His hobbies include acting in the community theatre in Mifflin and Centre counties with Stone Arch Players, Sock & Buskin Community Theater, and State College Community Theater. When he is not at the theater he enjoys being home with his 4 very much loved dogs.
